About the Raul Perez 'Muti' Albarino
Raúl Pérez 'Muti' Albariño is a highly distinctive, age-worthy, and deeply mineral-driven white wine produced in partnership between master winemaker Raúl Pérez, Rodrigo Méndez, and Alberto Orte. Named "Muti" (an affectionate German term for "Mom") in honor of family, the wine is sourced from old-vine, granite-soil plots in the Val do Salnés subzone—the coolest and most maritime area of Rías Baixas. Fermented with native yeasts and aged primarily in large oak foudres alongside stainless steel vats, it showcases an expressive bouquet of orange zest, white blossoms, lemon curd, candied ginger, and crushed sea salt. On the palate, it delivers dense orchard and citrus fruit flavors underpinned by searing Atlantic acidity, vibrant freshness, and a long, saline-driven finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with fresh raw oysters, pan-seared sea scallops, grilled octopus, ceviche, steamed razor clams, and light goat's milk cheeses.
