Bodegas Muga Seleccion Especial 2019

The 2019 Selección Especial is a powerful and sophisticated Reserva that reflects an exceptional vintage in Rioja. It presents a deep black-cherry colour with a dense robe. The nose is highly intense and complex, offering ripe aromas of blackberries and red berries intertwined with spicy notes of clove, vanilla, black pepper, and subtle forest floor. Secondary layers of roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, and licorice emerge from 26 months of aging in French oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied and silky, showcasing a harmonious balance between its concentrated fruit core, well-integrated acidity, and polished, fine-grained tannins. The finish is remarkably long, elegant, and persistent.
