About the Mt Difficulty Roaring Meg Pinot Noir 2017
Mt Difficulty Roaring Meg Pinot Noir 2017 is a vibrant Central Otago red offering dark cherry, wild raspberry, red berry, dried herbs, brown spice, and subtle earth. The palate is juicy and textured, with fine tannins, bright acidity, savoury complexity, and a refreshing finish.
Food Pairing: Roast duck, venison, lamb, mushroom dishes, grilled pork, roasted poultry, charcuterie, and hearty seasonal vegetables.
90 Points - James Suckling
Fresh aromas, deep flavors and a handy, fleshy structure. This is packed with bright red cherries and made for immediate drinking. Drink now. Screw cap.
88 Points - Wine Enthusiast
A mélange of ripe red and black fruits, crushed violets, baking spices and woody notes make up the nose on this plush Pinot. The tannins are a little chunky amidst the silky mouthfeel and this could use more of the elegance this variety so willingly offers. This is a fruit-forward, oak-forward Pinot for everyday drinking.
