About the Morgenster Estate Estate The Reserve Red 2010
Morgenster Estate Estate The Reserve Red 2010 is a flagship Bordeaux-style blend crafted by the historic Morgenster Estate in Stellenbosch. Sourced from south-facing slope vineyards near False Bay, this wine aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (largely new) and benefits from consultation by Pierre Lurton of Château Cheval Blanc. In the glass, it displays a deep, mature garnet rim with expressive aromas of cassis, dark plum, dried tobacco leaf, cedarwood, cacoa, and graphite minerality. On the palate, it is full-bodied, rich, and seamlessly integrated, showcasing fine-grained, resolved tannins and a long, savory, dark-fruit finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with roasted lamb shanks, grilled ribeye steak, prime rib, braised beef short ribs, venison, and aged hard cheeses.
