An exceptional, timeless Spanish red wine crafted by the historic Bodegas Montecillo, one of the founding pillars of the Rioja DOCa. Composed primarily of Tempranillo complemented by a small touch of Garnacha sourced from selected vineyards across Rioja Alta, this wine undergoes meticulous malolactic fermentation before maturing for 18 months in high-quality American oak barrels, followed by an additional period of refinement in the bottle. The 2020 vintage displays a bright, clean ruby hue with violet rims, opening into a classic, layered nose of fresh red cherries, wild raspberries, and liquorice, beautifully integrated with sweet notes of vanilla, warm cocoa, and pastry notes on a balanced, velvety, and medium-bodied palate.
