About the Monemvasia Kydonitsa White
Crafted by Monemvasia Winery (Tsimbidi) in the historic Laconia region of the Peloponnese peninsula, this varietal white wine celebrates one of Greece's rarest indigenous grapes, Kydonitsa. Named after the Greek word for quince (kydoni), this ancient variety was single-handedly rescued from near-extinction by the Tsimbidi family. Grown in coastal clay-loam soils at 300 meters altitude and nurtured by fresh Mediterranean breezes, the fruit develops aromatic intensity while retaining crisp, natural acidity.
Food Pairing: Grilled octopus, pan-seared sea bass, Greek salad with feta, lemon-herb roasted chicken, and goat cheese.
