About the Miro Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2019
Miro Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2019 is an exceptional, bright, and lively small-production artisanal California red wine masterfully crafted by acclaimed winemaker Miroslav "Miro" Tcholakov. Sourced from the premium Wolcott-Bevill and Göpfrich Vineyards situated on the northeast benchlands of the Dry Creek Valley, the fruit thrives in well-drained, decomposed rock and brick-red Manzanita-type soils. In the glass, it reveals a deep red color, opening with high-toned, concentrated aromas of ripe dark cherry, wild blueberry, and fresh plum, layered with a hint of characteristic raisin-esque elements. Aging for 14 months in 25% new European oak barrels integrates complex nuances of vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a subtle toasty-oaky smokiness. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, presenting a succulent core of spiced dark bramble fruits that is seamlessly anchored by very soft, elegant tannins and a refreshing acidity, culminating in a long, remarkably juicy finish.
Food Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye steaks, slow-cooked pulled pork, rich barbecued beef brisket, wood-fired meat pizzas, and mature hard cheeses like sharp white cheddar.
