Millstone Special #38 27 Year Old Oloroso Cask Dutch Single Malt Whisky

Millstone Special #38 27 Year Old Oloroso Cask Dutch Single Malt Whisky is an exceptionally mature limited release from Zuidam Distillers. Distilled in 1998 and matured for 27 years in an Oloroso Sherry cask, it was bottled in 2025 at 48.58% ABV. Extended sherry-cask maturation gives this rare Dutch single malt remarkable depth, bringing together ripe and dried fruits, dark chocolate, nuts, warming spice and beautifully integrated mature oak. 

Food Pairing: Pair with aged Gouda, Manchego, roasted walnuts, charcuterie, braised beef, dark chocolate or rich dried-fruit desserts.

Tasting Notes: Deep and mature with ripe and dried fruit, raisins, dark chocolate, nuts, warming spice and seasoned oak, balanced by an elegant bittersweet character.

Nose: Ripe apricot and sweet cherry lead into dried fruit, subtle spice, nuts and mature oak.

Palate: Full-bodied and complex, with raisins, dark chocolate and concentrated fruit complemented by gentle herbal notes, warming spice and polished oak.

Finish: Exceptionally long and warming, with lingering dried fruit, dark chocolate, sherry richness, gentle bitterness and mature oak.
