About the Michele Chiarlo Barolo Cerequio 2009
Michele Chiarlo Barolo Cerequio 2009 is a powerful and mature expression from one of Barolo’s most revered crus. Deep garnet in color, it opens with intense aromas of dried cherry, blood orange, potpourri, licorice, and warm spice. The palate is full-bodied and richly textured, delivering concentrated layers of prune, red fruit, and savory complexity supported by firm, condensed tannins and refreshing acidity. Bold yet refined, it shows remarkable depth and structure, finishing long and persistent with lingering notes of spice, rhubarb, and dried fruit.
Food Pairing: Braised beef, truffle pasta, roasted lamb, venison, porcini mushroom dishes, or aged hard cheeses.
96 Points - James Suckling
A spicy and toasty wine with aromas of potpourri, dried cherries, blood oranges, prunes and licorice. Classic, intense, full-bodied, rich and velvety, with fully condensed tannins, prune and cherry flavors, refreshing acidity and amazing length enhanced by rhubarb candy. Still chewy. Drink or hold.
