Michael David Winery Inkblot Cabernet Franc 2022 750ml

The first Lodi Cabernet Franc wine ever produced by Michael David Winery, and one of the few produced from Lodi. This varietal originated from the Bordeaux and Loire Valley regions of France and has been grown with success in many other countries. The grapes for this wine come from a 9 acre vineyard located on the west side of Lodi, no more than a stone’s throw away from the winery. Ready to drink now or could be set down for a few years.

Deeply concentrated dark ruby in color with tobacco, strawberry jam and cherry aromas standing out. Full-bodied with dark fruit and spice, blackberry, clove, walnut and pepper are layered within hints of sweet vanilla. A lasting finish is framed with additional tobacco and spice notes intermingled into dark fruit flavors.

This wine is concentrated, with aromas of blackberry, dried spice, toasted oak and florals on the nose. The flavors on the palate are black strawberry, black currant and orange zest, layered with mocha, chicory, earth and a dry, silky finish.
