The Meikle Tòir 2019 6-Year-Old PX Cask #8718 is an exceptionally rare, single-cask peated Speyside malt selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker. This expression was matured in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry Hogshead, resulting in a rich, dark amber spirit that balances intense mainland smoke with deep sherry sweetness.
Nose: Initial scents of glue and alcohol (typical of high ABV) give way to sweet, freshly baked apple pie and heather honey.
Palate: Described as a "strong attack" of sherry that is both dry and sweet, with notes of dark chocolate and mocha.
Smoke Profile: The smoke is noted as being "subdued" rather than dominant, often described as "cold ash" or "barbecue flavor".
Finish: A long-lasting finish that transitions from grilled aromas to sweet roasted hazelnuts and icing.
