About the Fonterutoli Badiòla Gran Selezione Chianti Classico 2017 750ml
Critic tasting note: (2017 vintage) "Made entirely with Sangiovese planted in high-altitude vineyards, this has aromas of violet, new leather, menthol and French oak. The medium-bodied palate offers ripe Marasca cherry, espresso and licorice alongside fresh acidity and fine-grained, drying tannins. Kerin O’Keefe" - 91/100, Wine Enthusiast
Tasting Notes
An innate elegance and freshness, hints of wild berries and red fruits for this wine that is born at an altitude of 570 m, from vineyards that are among the highest in Chianti Classico, with soil composed of marl and sandstone. The municipality of Radda in Chianti, where the vineyards are located, benefits from an overall cooler climate and above all from daytime temperatures among the lowest of the whole company: delayed sprouting, later ripening and harvests around mid-October return a Sangiovese of great verticality and tension.
