About the Mayacamas Chardonnay 2022
Founded in 1889, Mayacamas stands as one of the most storied vineyard and winery operations in the history of American wine. Through its more than 125 years of production, Mayacamas has earned its place as a standard-bearer of traditional winemaking, and the source of some of California’s most iconic and longest-lived bottles.

The 2022 Mayacamas Chardonnay is a masterful expression of mountain-grown fruit, defined by its vibrancy, structural tension, and a refusal to undergo malolactic fermentation. It opens with high-toned aromatics of jasmine, lemongrass, and chamomile, leading to a core of Meyer lemon, white peach, and Bartlett pear. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and expansive, showcasing a beautiful balance between its silky texture and a firm, saline minerality. Secondary notes of marzipan, cardamom, and tangerine oil add depth, while the finish is long and steely with a characteristic "stony" edge. Unlike many Napa Chardonnays, it maintains a lean, energetic profile with a focus on pure orchard fruit and mountain intensity.

Food Pairing: Pairs exquisitely with briny oysters, cheese and onion quiche, pan-seared scallops, or aged hard cheeses like Manchego and Parmesan.
