Cavit Maso Cervara Teroldego Rotaliano Superiore Riserva 2017 is an exceptionally structured, velvety, and deeply complex expression of Trentino’s indigenous "princely" red grape. Sourced from choice, low-yielding alluvial plots in the historic Campo Rotaliano plain, the old-vines fruit benefits from well-drained gravelly soils left by the Noce river. After traditional skin-contact fermentation, the wine undergoes a patient 24-month maturation phase in French oak barriques followed by extensive bottle refinement. In the glass, it presents an opaque, dense ruby-red core with vibrant violet highlights. The highly expressive, refined nose opens with rich aromas of wild blackberries, fresh violets, and forest floor, layered with sweet undertones of vanilla bean, cocoa dust, and warm baking spices. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, enveloping, and seamless, displaying an engaging fluid coherence where its core of dark bramble fruit is effortlessly balanced by silky, well-rounded tannins and a crisp line of alpine acidity, concluding with a long, elegant finish marked by a lingering taste of fresh blueberries.
