About the Martin Texier Vendeze
Martin Texier Vendèze is a refined, mineral-driven, and expressive natural red wine crafted by second-generation winemaker Martin Texier. Sourced from organically farmed Syrah vines planted in the 'Vendèze' parcel in Saint-Julien-en-Saint-Alban, the vines sit on steep slopes characterized by clay-limestone topsoil over granitic bedrock. Vinified naturally with spontaneous native yeast fermentation and partial whole clusters in concrete tanks, the wine ages on fine lees before being bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur. In the glass, it yields enticing aromas of fresh dark berries, crushed black pepper, violets, smoked game, and subtle garrigue herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and structured, balancing concentrated dark fruit with fine-grained tannins, energetic acidity, and a long, chalky mineral finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with roasted leg of lamb, grilled duck breast, pan-seared pork chops, wild mushroom ragù, charcuterie, and aged goat cheese.
