Martin Texier Cérouan Vieille Vigne du Clau is a rare, complex, and deeply expressive natural red wine crafted by second-generation vigneron Martin Texier. Sourced from the historic "Le Clau" parcel in Saint-Julien-en-Saint-Alban—inherited from his father Éric Texier and planted in 1955—this cuvée is made entirely from Serine, an ancient heirloom strain of Syrah. Farmed organically on granitic soils, the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts using partial whole-cluster maceration before aging in neutral oak foudres without fining or filtration. In the glass, it offers alluring aromas of wild blackberries, plum, crushed black pepper, black olives, and subtle smoked meat. On the palate, it is full-bodied, structured, and vibrant, balancing concentrated dark fruit with firm, fine-grained tannins, savory umami undertones, and a long, mineral-driven finish.
