About the Maker's Mark 46 Bourbon
The first major new recipe from Maker's Mark since the original was created in the 1950s. To create Maker's 46, fully matured Maker's Mark is emptied from its barrel, and 10 seared virgin French oak staves are inserted inside. The bourbon is then returned to the barrel and aged for an additional nine weeks in a cool limestone cellar. Bottled at 94 proof, this unique finishing process extracts massive amounts of rich vanilla, deep caramel, and complex baking spice, creating a bolder, more robust sip.
NOSE
Intense and sweet aromas of toasted French oak, rich caramel, baking spices, and dark fruit.
PALATE
Exceptionally rich and creamy. Deep flavors of vanilla bean, brown sugar, and nutmeg are perfectly balanced by a bold, woody spice.
FINISH
Long, smooth, and deeply satisfying with lingering spice and sweet wood.
