Macaloney's An Aba

Macaloney’s An Aba is a lightly peated Canadian single malt from Macaloney’s Island Distillery in Victoria, British Columbia. This signature expression marries Kentucky bourbon, Spanish Oloroso, Portuguese red wine STR, virgin American oak and Pedro Ximénez casks. Bottled at 46% ABV, it combines gentle peat smoke with citrus, tropical fruit, dried fruit, vanilla, chocolate, malt and subtle maritime character.

Food Pairing: Smoked salmon, roast pork, aged cheddar, dark chocolate, dried-fruit desserts, roasted nuts, or honey-glazed dishes.

Tasting Notes: Lightly smoky and fruit-forward, with orange, lemon, banana and red currant alongside dried mango, chocolate, vanilla, malt and sherry-rich fruit.

Nose: Light peat, fresh pine and oak lead into orange liqueur, lemon sherbet, rum-raisin fruit cake, vanilla and ripe banana.

Palate: Creamy and layered, with peat, burnt heather and bonfire embers followed by prunes, dried figs, apricots, malted milk and stewed apples.

Finish: Dry and lightly smoky, with lingering oak, marzipan, dried fruit, vanilla and a subtle seaside character.
