Crafted by the renowned Lyrarakis Estate in the mountainous interior of Crete, Greece, 'Hippodrome' Vidiano (often celebrated as the queen of Cretan white grapes) showcases the revival of an ancient, once-forgotten indigenous variety. Sourced from the high-altitude 'Hippodrome' vineyard situated at 610 meters above sea level on the slopes of Mount Psiloritis, the low-yielding vines thrive in clay-limestone soils. Benefiting from dramatic diurnal temperature swings, the hand-picked fruit undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation with a portion matured in oak barrels to lend extra dimension, resulting in a wine of exceptional poise, aromatic richness, and fresh mineral backbone.
