Lionel Faury Condrieu 'Le Mornieux' 2023

Lionel Faury Condrieu 'Le Mornieux' 2023 is an extraordinarily aromatic, precise, and elegant white Northern Rhône wine crafted entirely from Viognier grown on steep, granite-terraced vineyards in Chavanay. Domaine Faury ferments and ages this cuvée primarily in stainless steel vats with a portion matured in older oak casks to preserve the fresh, energetic character of the grape. In the glass, it reveals a pale yellow-gold hue, bursting with perfume-like aromatics of white peach, ripe apricot, citrus blossom, honeysuckle, and fresh verbena tea. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied with a supple, creamy texture, beautifully balanced by a driving mineral tension, savory freshness, and a long, floral finish.

Food Pairing: Pairs delightfully with butter-poached lobster, pan-seared sea scallops, roast chicken with morels, creamy risottos, or mild goat cheese.

94 Points - Wine Spectator

A complex, layered version, showing beautiful ripeness and restraint. Acacia honey, nectarine, mango and yellow apple notes are fluid in feel, with tangy acidity and crunchy mineral elements bringing everything into focus. Crushed green herbs, verbena, chive blossoms and chamomile merge in through the long, winding finish, with a flash of salted butter. Drink now through 2030. 75 cases imported.
