About the Thibault Liger-Belair Les Saint Georges 2018 750ml
The 2018 Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair Les Saint-Georges Premier Cru is a red, full-bodied Pinot Noir wine from Burgundy, France:
Tasting notes
A medium-bodied wine with fine tannins, a slightly chalky texture, and a long, tender finish. It has a nose with mineral definition and hints of sous-bois.
Production
The grapes are grown on vines planted in 1944 and 1946 on a complex terroir of brown and orange clay with pebbles of calcium-bound limestone and calcite. The wine is harvested manually, with 30% of the grapes left whole. It ferments for three weeks with light intervention, and 50% of the wine is aged in new barrels for 22 months.
Aging
This wine is considered to have great aging potential, and some say it can be enjoyed for more than 10 or 15 years.
