About the Chateau Latour Les Forts de Latour 2008
Les Forts de Latour is the second wine of Chateau Latour, offering a refined and structured expression of Pauillac. It shows layers of blackcurrant, plum, cedar, and tobacco, supported by firm tannins and fresh acidity. Powerful yet approachable earlier than the grand vin, it delivers depth, balance, and classic Left Bank character with strong aging potential.
Food Pairing: Pairs well with grilled beef, lamb, game, and aged cheeses.
93 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Rich and fresh with firm dark tannins, balanced by acidity and true black currant flavors. Shows a chewy, chalky texture beneath the fruit.
92 Points - James Suckling
Aromas of caramel, flowers and currants. Full and velvety with good density, fruity elegance and balance. Benefits from additional bottle age.
91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Displays cedarwood, black currants and forest floor notes with a mineral edge. Round and generous with structure for long-term aging.
90 Points - Wine Spectator
Rounded and pure with red and black currant, tea and wood notes. Supple and focused with balance and length.
