Le Piane Nebbiolo 2020

Le Piane Nebbiolo 2020 is an incredibly vibrant, pure, and high-altitude expression of northern Piedmont's signature red grape. Sourced from mineral-rich volcanic gravel soils in the hills around Boca, this wine eschews the heavy, muscular structure of the southern Langhe in favor of alpine freshness and remarkable fruit clarity. Vinified exclusively in stainless steel tanks to fully preserve its delicate varietal aromatics, it presents a translucent, brilliant ruby-red color in the glass. The highly expressive nose opens with a lovely bouquet of wild raspberries, sour cherry, and fresh strawberries, beautifully accented by notes of violet petals, wild mountain herbs, and a touch of white pepper. On the palate, this medium-bodied red is remarkably agile and savory, marrying a juicy core of red berry fruit with fine, silky tannins and a bracing line of volcanic acidity that finishes long, crisp, and exceptionally clean.
