Laws San Luis Valley Straight Rye

A beautifully unapologetic, terroir-driven craft whiskey from Colorado's celebrated Laws Whiskey House! This flagship expression is crafted from a mash bill of 95% heirloom San Luis Valley rye and 5% heirloom barley (with some batches utilizing 100% rye). Sourced exclusively from the Cody family farm at 7,500 feet above sea level, this semi-wild, low-yield grain imparts a distinctly floral and mineral-rich flavor profile that is completely unique to the region. Aged for a minimum of three years in heavily charred American white oak and bottled at an approachable 95 proof (47.5% ABV), it delivers a wonderfully fragrant, brilliantly balanced, and distinctly Colorado sipping experience.

NOSE

Bright, floral, and deeply perfumed. Highly inviting aromas of sweet grass, fresh mint, orange blossom, wild honey, and a lively dash of baking spice.

PALATE

Smooth, complex, and beautifully balanced. Lush flavors of salted toffee, stewed fig, and sweet black tea are perfectly countered by a crisp, refreshing wave of sweet mint and orange peel.

FINISH

Medium-long, crisp, and exceptionally satisfying, leaving a lingering, radiant trail of green peppercorn spice and a whisper of dry tobacco.
