About the Cantine Lavorata Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore
A magnificent and expressive southern Italian red wine crafted by Cantine Lavorata from 100% Gaglioppo grapes, an ancient variety native to Calabria. Sourced from vineyards featuring predominantly clay-rich soils near Cirò Marina, the grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel. The wine matures carefully for a year in chestnut barrels followed by another year in stainless steel before bottling. It opens with an intense and seductive bouquet of ripe plums, black cherries, and dried figs, beautifully layered with nuanced notes of walnut husks, unpeeled almonds, and dried flowers. On the palate, it delivers a full-bodied, well-balanced structure characterized by a pronounced alpine freshness, firm yet velvety tannins, and a long, savory finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with rich pasta dishes with spicy meat ragù, roasted lamb with Mediterranean herbs, grilled game, or a selection of aged, sharp cheeses.
