Laphroaig Cairdeas 2025 Lore Cask Strength is a highly anticipated, powerfully structured limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky crafted exclusively for the Friends of Laphroaig community. For the 2025 release, the distillery offers an uncut, cask-strength interpretation of its revered core expression, Laphroaig Lore. This complex liquid is artfully created by marrying five of Laphroaig’s all-time favorite cask styles: first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, quarter casks, virgin oak, European oak sherry butts, and refill Laphroaig casks. Non-chill filtered and bottled at a robust 59.6% ABV, this expression allows the drinker to experience the malt exactly as the whisky makers do. The resulting dram elevates Laphroaig's legendary peated profile, weaving heavy medicinal peat smoke and Islay sea spray through gorgeous layers of dark stone fruits, sweet vanilla fudge, and intense kitchen baking spices.

Food Pairing: Pairs spectacularly with rich, sticky barbecued beef brisket, heavily charred rosemary lamb chops, extra-mature blue cheeses like Roquefort or Stilton, or a premium dark chocolate bar infused with sea salt.

TASTING NOTES - An antique gold liquid appearance with brilliant clarity, showcasing a remarkably dense, viscous, and oily mouthfeel that heavily coats the palate and clings to the glass.

NOSE - High-toned, sweet, and boldly peaty, opening with prominent aromas of ripe apricot, peaches in syrup, and lemon cream, beautifully balanced by vanilla fudge sweetness, hints of toasted coconut, fresh basil, a touch of tobacco leaf, and white pepper.

PALATE - Bold, full-bodied, and flavor-forward, delivering an extraordinary explosion of heavy medicinal peat smoke mixed with salty sea spray. The high proof introduces a peppery tongue sparkle alongside vibrant notes of lemon zest, salted limes, and rich caramel, underpinned by background layers of fresh mint tea, cumin, cloves, and ginger.

FINISH - Exceptionally long-lasting, warm, and drying, leaving a deeply resonant, antiseptic trace of Islay peat smoke perfectly balanced by a lingering citrus sweetness and an everlasting clove-like aftertaste.
