Laphroaig 10 Year Old

Laphroaig 10 Year Old is the quintessential Islay single malt and the flagship expression of the Laphroaig Distillery. Renowned for its intensely bold, smoky, and medicinal profile, this classic whisky is crafted using malted barley dried over peat fires found only on the island of Islay. Aged for 10 years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, it masterfully balances its signature heavy peat smoke and salty maritime character with an underlying, subtle vanilla sweetness, making it a beloved staple for peat enthusiasts worldwide.

Food Pairing: Freshly shucked oysters, smoked salmon, strong blue cheeses like Roquefort, dark chocolate, or classic Scottish haggis.

Tasting Notes : Bright, sparkling gold in appearance with a medium-bodied, robust, and slightly oily mouthfeel.

Nose : Intensely pungent and earthy, leading with signature notes of medicinal iodine, seaweed, heavy peat smoke, and tar, followed by a faint whisper of sweet vanilla and honey.

Palate : Bold and uncompromising, delivering a massive hit of peaty campfire smoke, salty sea spray, and black pepper, which gives way to a surprising, gentle sweetness of vanilla and oak char.

Finish : Exceptionally long, drying, and deeply smoky, with lingering notes of tar, iodine, and maritime salt.

Serve : Serve neat in a Glencairn glass, or add a few drops of water to slightly tame the intense smoke and release the hidden fruity and vanilla aromatics.
