Lagavulin 8 Year Old is an intense, brilliantly lively single malt Scotch whisky crafted at the legendary Lagavulin Distillery on the south coast of Islay. Originally released in 2016 as a limited-edition bottling to commemorate the distillery's 200th anniversary, this expression proved so immensely popular that it was permanently added to their core range. Matured exclusively in refill American oak casks, this 8-year-old malt strips away heavy wood influence to present a bright, fiercely untamed showcase of Lagavulin's classic character. It delivers a magnificent combination of crisp, maritime peat smoke and unexpected sweet, clean citrus brightness, creating a surprisingly punchy and complex dram despite its younger age statement.

Food Pairing: Pairs spectacularly with freshly shucked raw oysters, smoked salmon, intensely sharp blue cheeses like Stilton, grilled pork belly, or a sea-salted dark chocolate bar.

TASTING NOTES - A pale, bright gold color with a light-to-medium body and a clean, sharp, yet surprisingly smooth and coating texture on the palate.

NOSE - High-toned, clean, and smoky, opening with dominant aromas of burning peat, sea spray, and charred wood, beautifully layered with fresh lemon zest, green apple, milk chocolate, and a faint hint of tar.

PALATE - Bold and explosive on the tongue, revealing an initial sweetness of honey and orange oil that quickly shifts into powerful layers of hot peat ash, cracked black pepper, brine, and savory wood smoke.

FINISH - Long, warming, and remarkably clean, resolving with lingering notes of dry peat smoke, sea salt, clean wood ash, and a touch of sweet malt.
