Lagarde Guarda Malbec 2021

Lagarde Guarda Malbec 2021 is an elegant, structured, and deeply layered red wine produced by the historic Bodega Lagarde, established in 1897. Sourced from old, low-yielding vines planted in 1906 and 1937 on clay-loam soils in the Mayor Drummond vineyard in Luján de Cuyo, this cuvée reflects pure Argentine heritage. The wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel before aging for 12 months in French oak barrels, followed by further bottle maturation. In the glass, it displays an intense ruby-violet color with expressive aromas of ripe blackberries, black cherries, floral violet notes, subtle tobacco, and sweet spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and refined, offering a dense core of dark fruit balanced by crisp acidity and fine, velvety tannins that lead to a long, persistent finish.
