Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault Clos de la Barre 1.5L Magnum

Crafted in the heart of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, France, Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault 'Clos de la Barre' Monopole (1.5L Magnum) is a legendary, world-class white Burgundy produced by one of the most iconic estates in the history of fine wine. Sourced exclusively from a walled 2.12-hectare estate monopole vineyard located right behind the Lafon family home in Meursault, this historic site features deep clay-limestone soils over solid limestone bedrock. Presented in an impressive 1.5-liter Magnum format, this generous vessel provides the ultimate conditions for slow, graceful aging, preserving the wine's vibrant natural acidity while allowing its rich textural complexity to unfold over decades. Managed under strict organic and biodynamic viticulture, Dominique Lafon and his team harvest old Chardonnay vines entirely by hand. The grapes undergo gentle pressing and ambient yeast fermentation, followed by extended maturation on fine lees for nearly two years in French oak barrels (approximately 25% new). The result is a Meursault of benchmark richness, broad mid-palate weight, and intense chalky minerality.

Food Pairing: Butter-poached lobster, pan-seared sea scallops with lemon beurre blanc, roasted Bresse chicken with black truffles, grilled turbot, veal chops in cream sauce, and aged Comté cheese.
