About the La Venenosa Tabernas 3rd Edition (44%)
La Venenosa Tabernas 3rd Edition is an approachable, artisanal Raicilla produced by Maestros Taberneros José and Benito Salcedo Rios in the village of El Mosco. Crafted to showcase high-quality traditional agave distillation at an accessible entry point, it is pit-roasted in an adobe oven with black oak, fermented with wild yeasts, and double-distilled in stainless steel and copper stills.
Food Pairing: Fresh ceviche, fish tacos, grilled pork skewers, pickled vegetables, or mild Mexican cheeses.
Tasting Notes : Crystal clear with a light, smooth, and mineral-forward mouthfeel.
Nose : Bright orange peel, fresh oregano, green apple, composted herbal notes, and subtle pickled jalapeño pepper.
Palate : Tangy lemongrass, gentle agave sweetness, cinnamon spice, black pepper, and subtle sea salt brine.
Finish : Medium-length, clean, and spicy with lingering notes of cantaloupe and resinous herbs.
Serve : Serve neat at room temperature in a glass tasting vessel or traditional copita, or mixed as a base in agave cocktails.
