About the La Pelle Ceniza Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 750ml
Ceniza Vineyard (Spanish for ash) is located in Coombsville AVA where the soils are volcanic ash with layers of rich loam. Vines are 18 years old, 3 different clones, VSP training, sustainable farming.
22 months in barrel, 70% new oak, all French coopers; Taransaud, Sylvain, Ermitage.
Deep inky in color, aromatics reveal dark cherries, black currants, and plums with secondary notes of violets, mountain herbs, exotic spices, and licorice. The wine is full bodied, concentrated with excellent silky tannins from front to back.
The cooler weather of south east Napa Valley brings freshness and savory notes with great density and acidity permitting an exceptionally long finish.
Quite impressive already and is expected to age brilliantly for 20+ years.
