About the Chateau La Gravette de Certan 2017/2018 750ml
Vieux Château Certan is one of Bordeaux's most famous names, so the chance to get hold of a wine that reflects the estate's great pedigree without the hefty pricetag is one that shouldn't be ignored. 2014 is a charming vintage: criminally overlooked but with fantastic freshness and purity of fruit, a case of this wonderful second wine is a total no-brainer.
Tasting Notes
The 2014 Gravette has a deep purple colour, an attractive nose of raspberries, cherries, liquorice and forest leaves. On the palate, the wine has good balance and a round and generous texture. This wine can be enjoyed young with its primary, fruity character and served slightly chilled. A very pretty Pomerol worthy of a great estate.
Food Pairing
Vieux Chateau Certan is best paired with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised, and grilled dishes. Vieux Chateau Certan is also good when matched with Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms, pasta, and a wide variety of hard and soft cheeses.
