Louis Latour Gevrey-Chambertin 2020 is an elegant, structured, and classic expression of Pinot Noir from one of the most celebrated villages in the Côte de Nuits. In the glass, it presents a deep ruby color. The nose opens with inviting aromas of black cherry, wild blackberry, licorice, and underbrush, balanced by subtle spicy and forest floor nuances. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied with a round mouthfeel, showcasing a rich core of dark berry fruit, cocoa, and subtle earthy mineral notes supported by silky, structured tannins and energetic acidity that leads into a persistent, savory finish.

Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with roast duck breast, beef bourguignon, grilled ribeye steak, roasted game birds, wild mushroom risotto, and aged Époisses or Comté cheese.

An impressive Gevrey-Chambertain that has so much fruity charm and the gentle tannins underline this very nicely. Thankfully, no attempt was made to make some kind of bold statement. Quite dry finish, but this helps to give the wine vitality.
