About the Louis Latour Pernand-Vergelesses 'En Caradeux' 1er Cru 2020
Louis Latour Pernand-Vergelesses 'En Caradeux' 1er Cru 2020 is an exceptional, elegant, and finely balanced white Burgundy crafted from 100% Chardonnay grown in the Premier Cru climat of "En Caradeux" in Pernand-Vergelesses. Situated directly across the valley from the famous Grand Cru hill of Corton, this vineyard benefits from ideal mid-slope exposure and limestone-rich soils. Fermented traditionally and aged in oak barrels, the wine presents a radiant pale yellow color with golden reflections. The complex nose opens with intense aromatics of yellow orchard fruit, toasted almond, acacia flowers, and subtle flinty mineral accents. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, sleek, and vibrant, framing flavors of lemon curd, golden apple, and subtle baking spice with electric acidity and a long, chalky finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with pan-fried sole, butter-poached lobster, roasted poultry, creamy mushroom risotto, scallops, and soft-ripened cheeses like Époisses or Comté.
