About the Kosta Browne Treehouse Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017 750ml
Eight miles from the Pacific Ocean, at an elevation just above the coastal fog, our 14- acre Treehouse Vineyard is set in the heartland of the Russian River Valley. Previously, this land was used for grazing cattle, which means there was no need for a source of water. To this day, water must be carted up to the vineyard to water the vines which were first planted in 2006. Bounded by cypress trees and majestic redwoods, this site is a natural masterpiece, shaped by sun-kissed days and unique iron-rich soils that create a Pinot Noir with profound depth and complexity.
Treehouse Vineyard produced a sensational Pinot Noir in 2017, with alluring aromas of black plum, ripe, wild raspberry and baking spices. Seductive flavors of fresh blueberry and black cherry bloom upon the palate, revealing delicate notes of French oak and spice which frame a complex, lingering finish.
From a great site in the Russian River Valley and just about all destemmed and aged 16 months in 55% new French oak, the 2017 Pinot Noir Treehouse Vineyard reveals a slightly deeper ruby/purple hue as well as more black cherry and slightly darker fruits that give way to more spice, violet, bouquet garni, and white flower notes with time in the glass. Medium to full-bodied and balanced, with ripe tannins and a classic Burgundian style, it's another stunning Pinot Noir from this estate that can be drunk today or cellared for over a decade.
Powerful, lusciously spiced and contoured, with well-honed underbrush and cedary spice accents to the dried red fruit and berry flavors. The rich finish features toasty notes. Drink now through 2026.
Tarry and rich, this has an amaro-like bitterness and smoky warmth to the tan-nins. The texture is velvety and generous. For braised beef.
