About the Kopke Colheita Tawny Porto 1978 375ml
An extraordinary single-harvest tawny from the 1978 vintage, masterfully aged in seasoned oak casks by the world's oldest Port house. It pours a deep amber-mahogany color with golden highlights, opening with a remarkably complex bouquet of dried figs, raisins, honey, and warm wood spice. On the palate, it reveals a dense, silky, and beautifully concentrated texture, seamlessly balancing sweet flavors of toffee and toasted almonds with a vibrant line of acidity that extends into a long, highly sophisticated finish.
Food Pairing: Outstanding when paired alongside rich caramel tarts, classic crème brûlée, premium dark chocolate brownies, or a selection of mature, artisanal cheeses.
Wine Enthusiast
Not one of the generally declared vintages for Port, this year produced some ripe, sweet single quinta vintages. It also was a good year for rich, sweet tawnies. This is ripe, toffee-like in character packed with ripe raisin and sultana flavors. It is a luxurious wine, of course ready to drink.

Crisp and spicy, with dried citrus, maple and ginger flavors, supported by fresh acidity. White chocolate and cardamom notes flood the tangy finish.
