About the Kopke Colheita 1934
Kopke Colheita is a single-vintage Tawny Port from Portugal's Douro region, matured for an extended period in wood before bottling. The ageing process develops complexity while preserving freshness, producing an expressive fortified wine whose character and composition vary according to the individual harvest and time spent maturing.
Food Pairing: Pairs best with creme brulee, toasted almond tart, aged Gouda, or walnut cake.
97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 1934 Colheita Tawny Port was bottled in March 2022 with 149 grams per liter of residual sugar. Despite its remarkable age, it remains surprisingly fresh, with darker molasses tones, fine concentration and an exceptionally long finish. Mark Squires describes it as a distinctive experience among Kopke's oldest Colheitas.
95 Points - Wine Enthusiast
At nearly 90 years old, this tawny is intensely concentrated and complex. Its old-gold character is joined by firm acidity, orange peel and candied dried-fruit flavors. The wine remains memorable and ready to drink, with bottling performed on demand.
