Killowen Rum & Raisin Single Malt Irish Whiskey 700ml

Killowen Rum & Raisin is a 100% Single Malt Irish Whiskey sourced from Great Northern Distillery in County Louth and finished by Killowen Distillery in the Mourne Mountains. The malt is initially aged for 5 years in Bourbon casks, then divided between Killowen’s own dark rum casks and Pedro Ximénez Sherry butts before being married together. It is bottled at a powerful 55% ABV.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with dark chocolate, Christmas cake, bread pudding, roasted nuts, crème brûlée and rich caramel desserts.

Tasting Notes: Rich dried fruit and tropical sweetness with raisins, figs, prunes, coconut, vanilla and caramel.

Nose: Raisins, figs and prunes with vanilla, coconut and sweet dark-rum notes.

Palate: Rich PX Sherry fruit, raisins and figs balanced by caramel, vanilla and tropical coconut.

Finish: Long, warming and fruity with lingering Sherry sweetness, vanilla and oak.

Serve: Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water due to its higher bottling strength.
