Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 12

The Heavily Peated Batch #12 might be the perfect introduction to the region's smokier side. The cask makeup is 90% ex-fill Bourbon and 10% ex-fill sherry casks. Bottled at cask strength, Kilkerran does not chill filter or add colour to its whisky.

Nose: Creamy butterscotch and caramel notes in the beginning, with the development of notes of rye bread and tea leaf.

Palate: A familiar oiliness and smokiness is introduced on the palate, with notes of Iberico ham and brandy snaps.

Finish: A gentle finish, there are notes of lemon sherbet, honeycomb and mint, with peat smoke carrying through to the finish.
