Kilchoman Batch Strength

Kilchoman Batch Strength is a bold, permanently available addition to the Islay distillery's core range, crafted to amplify the raw intensity and depth of the classic Kilchoman farm spirit. This expression is expertly composed from a vatting of roughly 70% ex-bourbon barrels, 20% re-charred Portuguese red wine (STR) casks, and 10% Oloroso sherry butts, with just a few drops of water added post-maturation to bring it to a consistent 57% ABV. On the nose, it delivers a massive wave of intense earthy peat smoke, coastal air, red fruits, fresh cherries, and heather blossom. The palate boasts a rich, silky viscosity that unfurls with layers of sweet toffee, vanilla, dark chocolate, and salted caramel, balanced beautifully by warming baking spices and prominent, lingering peat.

Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with robust dishes like smoked beef brisket, charbroiled ribeye steak, mature blue cheeses (like Roquefort or Stilton), or rich dark chocolate desserts.
