Kamen Kashmir 2018

Kamen Kashmir 2018 is a rich, powerful, and deeply expressive single-vineyard red wine produced from high-elevation organically farmed vines on the volcanic slopes of Mount Veeder in Sonoma Valley. Displaying an opaque, deep purple-black hue, it opens with an intense, captivating bouquet of cassis, crushed black plums, blackberry reduction, cocoa nibs, and graphite, intertwined with nuanced accents of violet, crushed rock, and dried lavender. On the palate, it is full-bodied, opulent, and seamlessly constructed, delivering layers of concentrated dark berry fruit supported by fine-grained, firm volcanic tannins and vibrant acidity that leads into a exceptionally long, mineral-tinged finish.

Food Pairing: Pairs magnificently with prime dry-aged ribeye, braised short ribs, roasted rack of lamb, venison loin, or aged gouda and cheddar cheeses.

This large-scaled wine offers up waves of warmed plum sauce, blackberry compote and black Mission fig paste flavors carried by ample graphite and a cast iron-accented structure. The fruit drips over the frame though, easily absorbing it, while violet, melted licorice and ganache accents fill in on the finish. Impressive combo of heft and cut. Best from 2023 through 2038.
