Justin Girardin Santenay Beauregard Premier Cru 2022

The Justin Girardin Santenay Premier Cru Beauregard 2022 is an elegant, structured, and deeply sophisticated Old World red wine that beautifully exemplifies the vibrant purity of the Côte de Beaune. Sourced from a picturesque, high-elevation parcel known historically as "Biaus Regart" ("beautiful view"), the vineyard benefits from a constant, cooling breeze that allows the fruit to achieve optimum aromatic complexity. It pours a beautiful, brilliant ruby-red colour in the glass. The nose lifts with an immediate, refreshing bouquet of ripe red cherries, wild raspberries, and cassis, seamlessly layered with complex undercurrents of violets, graphite, damp forest floor, and delicate vanilla spice. On the palate, this medium-bodied Pinot Noir is remarkably focused, energetic, and juicy, coating the mouth with pure intensities of dark orchard stone fruits, tree bark, and a chiseled limestone minerality that highlights the exceptional balance of the 2022 vintage. Matured for 18 months in fine French oak barrels (20% new) to maximize its natural structural depth, it is driven by a vibrant, food-friendly acidity and firm, velvet-edged tannins that carry into a long, persistent, and clean finish.

Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with a wide range of refined culinary options, including tender fillet of beef, pan-fried veal chops, roasted duck breast, pheasant supreme, wild mushroom risottos, and a selection of semi-refined or aged artisanal cheeses.
