About the Jean-Luc Pasquet Tresors de Famille Le Cognac de Charles L.98 1998 Cognac
Jean-Luc Pasquet Tresors de Famille Le Cognac de Charles L.98 1998 Cognac is a limited single-cask Petite Champagne Cognac honoring Charles Leroux and his family's pioneering commitment to organic viticulture. Distilled in 1998 from organically grown Ugni Blanc, the Cognac was matured from the outset in new, coarse-grained Limousin oak with a heavy toast. It was bottled in July 2025 at its natural strength of 52.7% ABV, yielding only 648 bottles. The long maturation and distinctive oak treatment create an intense profile combining ripe fruit with vanilla, spice and mature woody character.
Food Pairing: Aged Comte, roasted duck, apricot tart, dried figs, toasted almonds, dark chocolate, honey-glazed nuts, and mature hard cheeses.
Tasting Notes: Rich, concentrated and spicy, combining ripe fruit with vanilla, honey, seasoned oak and warming spice.
Nose: Ripe apricot, vanilla and cedarwood with dried fig, dark chocolate and gentle spice.
Palate: Silky and rich with stewed apricot, vanilla, honey, flambéed banana and mint tea.
Finish: Long and warming with persistent cedarwood and spice.
