About the Jim Beam Devil's Cut Bourbon
A bold and intensely woody Kentucky Straight Bourbon that extracts the rich whiskey trapped deep within the barrel. As bourbon ages, a portion of the liquid is lost to evaporation (the "Angel's Share"), but another portion gets absorbed directly into the charred oak staves. Jim Beam uses a proprietary process to pull this dark, heavily oaked extract—the "Devil's Cut"—back out of the wood. This extract is then blended with extra-aged bourbon and bottled at a robust 90 proof, resulting in a deeply robust, full-bodied spirit.
NOSE
Heavy and complex with deep aromas of charred oak, dark caramel, rich vanilla, and a hint of warm spice.
PALATE
Bold and intensely woody, featuring robust flavors of dark brown sugar, sweet vanilla, and a spicy, oak-driven backbone.
FINISH
Long, warm, and smooth with a lingering, sweet oaky finish.
