Domaine Jamet Cote-Rotie 2001

Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie 2001 is a monumental, traditional, and deeply complex Northern Rhône red wine crafted by Jean-Paul Jamet. Sourced from over 20 distinct parcels planted on steep, schist and granite terraced slopes across the appellation, it was fermented using traditional whole clusters with native yeasts and aged for 22 months in oak barrels. In the glass, it presents an evolved garnet hue with an extraordinarily aromatic bouquet of crushed cassis, dried violets, smoked meats, black olive tapenade, cracked black pepper, and earthy forest floor. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied, structured, and precise, balancing concentrated dark fruit with fine-grained tannins and a long, savory, mineral-driven finish.

Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with roasted rack of lamb, venison loin with berry reduction, slow-braised beef short ribs, wild game ragù, and aged hard cheeses.
