The Clos Saint Denis of Louis Jadot is a powerful wine, with a dark color showing strong aromas of cherries, black current but also spices typical of our terroir. The tannins are both powerful and elegant.
The Clos Saint Denis matches very well duck and game as well as French cheese like Citeaux or Reblochon.
An exuberantly spicy fresh and ripe nose speaks of red berry fruit liqueur plum anise and clove plus discreet mineral nuances that are set off by enough wood to warrant mentioning. The powerful and sleekly muscular flavors are quite firm yet there is a certain generosity that renders the mouth feel somewhat finer than that of the Clos de la.

The 2016 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru has a clean and pure bouquet with ample smoke-tinged blackberry and raspberry fruit, controlled and focused, the mineral scents emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannin, plenty of dusky red fruit laced with graphite, although it deserves more complexity and detail to come through ont he finish.
