About the Louis Jadot Chablis Montee de Tonnerre Premier Cru 2020
Located just east of the Chablis Grand Cru appellation and bordering the Grand Cru climat of Blanchot, the Montée de Tonnerre vineyard shares the same exposure, steep slope, and white Kimmeridgean soils of its neighbor. This results in white wines with lively tension and vivacity enhanced by modest alcohol levels and heightened acidity. In the 2020 vintage this wine features aromas of ripe white peach, citrus skin, and wet stony earth. On the palate this medium-weight white develops an intriguing floral note while maintaining a firm and linear structure over its long finish.
Wine Spectator
An incisive white, with a linear frame fused with stone, apple and lemon flavors. Shows a cool, flinty character that inflects the long saline aftertaste. This has precision balance and a terrific sense of place.
