Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Maison Bleue is an exceptional, deeply expressive Northern Rhône red wine produced from old Syrah vines grown on the eastern slopes of the iconic Hermitage hill. Named after a historic stone house with blue shutters nestled in the vineyard, this organically and biodynamically farmed estate cuvée displays a dense purple-ruby color. The highly complex aromatic nose opens with a bouquet of ripe wild blackberries, dark cherries, and plum jam, beautifully layered with classic notes of fresh violet pastilles, licorice, black olives, and cracked black pepper, anchored by a prominent graphite and smoky mineral undertone. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, structured, and muscular, yet remarkably supple and focused. A rich, concentrated core of juicy dark fruits is framed by fine-grained, smooth tannins and a vibrant natural acidity, leading into a lingering, velvet-textured finish with persistent notes of savory baking spices and dark cocoa.
