The Whisky Agency Irish Single Malt 2002

Distilled in Ireland in 2002 and selected by independent bottler The Whisky Agency for their 15th Anniversary series, this single cask release was aged for 20 years and bottled in 2023. Maturing in a single barrel yields an outturn of just 185 bottles at a natural cask strength of 49.2% ABV. Non-chill filtered and with natural color, it showcases classic aged Irish malt character brimming with tropical fruit, clover honey, and delicate oak complexity.

Food Pairing: Pan-seared scallops, aged Gouda, lemon tart, roasted pork tenderloin with apple reduction, or white chocolate dessert.

Tasting Notes: Pale straw gold with brilliant clarity and slow, viscous legs clinging to the glass.

Nose: Fresh and highly aromatic, opening with vibrant passionfruit, mango, and green apple, followed by clover honey, vanilla bean, and soft toasted oak.

Palate: Oily and rich on the palate, featuring ripe banana, pineapple, and sweet malted barley upfront before developing into gentle baking spice, citrus peel, and refined oak tannins.

Finish: Long, warm, and tropical with lingering notes of sweet wood spice, vanilla cream, and soft orchard fruit.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a Glencairn glass, or add a few drops of water to open up deeper tropical fruit and floral honey aromas.
